My idea is to put a bunch of smart people in a room and give each of them five six minutes of fame to talk about whatever they want.

You have 6 minutes. If you want to spend 6 minutes preaching, with no time for feedback, you can do that. You can always get your feedback later, at the bar. If you want to ask a quick question like , “Ginger or MaryAnn?” and then spend the next 5:54 getting feedback from the crowd, that’s cool as well. Split it up however you want, just so long as it’s no more than 6 minutes. NO EXCEPTIONS.

EXCEPT! if a conversation is going well, and someone wants to give you some extra minutes, or use their minutes for themselves to tell you how brilliant/stupid/crazy/awesome your idea is, they can do it. Just think of it like C-SPAN, when those suits say “I yield 3 minutes to the Senator from Missouri”.

That’s it. Those are the only rules. I’m sorry their even has to be two rules. Well, really it’s just one rule with an exception to that one rule. An amendment really. Plus, the rules are rule is more like a guideline. A stringent guideline with one exception.

Just try to be their on time. Or not.
